Quartz Rec’s first release of the year comes from Colombian dj & producer Gotshell with his Crossing Desire EP composed of four original cuts. Same title track opens the release with an inter-galactic sound design making it the perfect intro for this release. ‘Micronesia’ takes over listener’s attention by being a gritty 4/4 track with shrill beeps and packs in layers with a well noticed break right in the middle of it. As the release evolves Gotshell unfolds his darker aesthetic on the third track called ‘Strident Pattern’ that moves around a vortex of solid sounds and rolling patterns. The end comes with the powerful ‘Trust Me’ covered with a blackened bass, a notorious percussion and a male voice calling for trust.
None of the four tracks competes for your attention since all four are made for different moments during a set. This release is definitely the best way to kick off the New Year!
